A Backflow Prevention Device and Standpipe is required for all hydrant meters.
A deposit, paid in advance, is required for hydrant meter service ($300.00 for 5/8” meter, $3,000.00 for 3” meter)
All users of hydrant meters shall be charged for all water based on the meter readings.
The customer shall use all possible care to prevent damage to the meter. Should a meter become damaged or stolen, the
cost of the replacement or repairs will be the responsibility of the customer and will be billed accordingly.
It is the customer’s responsibility to supply the proper fittings that adapt to the meter connections. Do not attach hoses
or fittings to any other part of the hydrant assembly. Do not remove any fittings, backflow preventer assembly or
adapters from the hydrant meter. The hydrant meter and backflow preventer assembly will be secured with a Foothills
Utilities issued chain and lock.
Moving a meter to a new location, requires the contractor to close out the existing permit with Customer Service, then
complete a new permit, pay the associated fees. This does not apply to authorized roving meters.
Hydrant meter and backflow prevention device must be made available for reading/and or inspection by Foothills
Utilities personnel at any time. Backflow certification needs to be current.
