Notice of Water Meter Replacement

This message is to notify you that starting August 14th, 2023, Foothills Utilities will begin a water meter replacement project requiring water meters 5/8-inch and larger to be replaced. These changes come with new meters that will provide accurate and equitable metering to establish reliability for our customers and their billing. 

Foothills Utilities has contracted with Fortiline Waterworks to carry out installation of the new meters, including scheduling appointments with customers that may need additional notice/time to prepare for the installation. Fortiline Waterworks is an industry expert committed to delivering courteous and professional service. Fortiline Waterworks installers will be working in sections in the Foothills to carry out this project. The installers will be carrying identification and will be driving marked vehicles with the Foothills Utilities logo.  

Fortiline Waterworks will start by taking an initial survey to assess the existing meter, and to confirm the meter size. Property owners should attempt to locate their water meter in advance and ensure the meter is accessible at the time of the installation. Any objects including, but not limited to- gardening, landscaping decor, and/or personal property will be removed for the meter installation. It is the customer’s responsibility to oversee anything removed from the easement. 

During the water meter replacement project, your water service will be temporarily interrupted while the existing water meter is removed, and the new meter is installed. Upon request, Fortiline Waterworks/ Foothills Utilities can provide an estimated time for the duration and completion of your meter changeout. After the installation is complete, water service will be quickly and carefully restored.  

We advise that you flush out lines after the installation is complete to ensure that all lines have fresh water that has been circulated. The new meter replacement project is mandatory and will continue to be conducted throughout this upcoming new year.
